Medical Review Policy

Health content carries real stakes, so this page states plainly what our medical content is, what it is not, and who stands behind it.

What our health content is

Summaries of publicly available, authoritative information: NIH fact sheets, FDA regulatory explanations, NIDDK disease overviews, and peer-reviewed research on individual ingredients. When we describe saw palmetto's trial record or iodine's thyroid role, we are translating government and scientific sources into plain English, with citations, and we label the strength of the evidence rather than letting confident prose substitute for it.

What it is not

Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment guidance. We do not tell readers what to take, and we repeatedly route readers with thyroid conditions, prescriptions, or serious symptoms to their physicians — because that routing is correct, not because it is legally convenient.

No invented authority

We do not employ a named medical reviewer, and we will not pretend otherwise. Sites that attach a doctor's name and photo to supplement content frequently cannot verify that the doctor reviewed anything; we refuse to create that theater. Instead, our medical content is verifiable by construction: every health claim traces to a cited public source a reader can open and check. Transparency about sources replaces the appearance of authority.

When we would change a page medically

If a cited source is retracted, a regulatory body issues new guidance on an ingredient we cover, or a reader surfaces a verified label change, the affected pages are updated under our editorial policy corrections process.
